Fresh Mushroom Farm, Inc., a family owned and operated business, was founded in 1989 by C. Joseph Parato when he began growing shiitake mushrooms in his oak woods. Restaurants quickly appreciated the quality and freshness of the mushrooms, and soon asked Joe if he could obtain other mushrooms for them.
As the service and quality provided by Fresh Mushroom Farm became recognized, more and more chefs asked for more and more of their recipe items to be supplied by FMF. The story, before long, became one of The Little Engine That Could. Mushrooms were followed by herbs, herbs were followed by spices, then grains, legumes, fresh produce, and on and on. The current product list covers thousands of items.
Joe's daughter, has been with the business since 1992 and provides the second generation of the company until the third generation can take the reins in 2031.
The family orientation and close-knit staff makes Fresh Mushroom Farm a business that cares about its customers.
